Professional Experience
T.W. Shortt is a veteran real estate broker, writer, and community commentator with more than 35 years of experience serving the Fort Knox–Hardin County area. A retired U.S. Army veteran, former member of the Radcliff City Council, and former candidate for the Kentucky House of Representatives in the 10th District, he writes about real estate, housing, finance, local government, economic development, veterans, and community issues.
Professional Experience
Shortt is a Kentucky-licensed real estate broker and the owner and principal broker of REALTY WORLD Knox Realty Group in Radcliff, Kentucky.
His experience includes residential sales, property management, military relocation, estate and probate-related property sales, distressed properties, limited-service programs, and other complex real estate transactions. His work has focused on helping property owners navigate situations that require experience, practical problem-solving, and careful planning.
Education
Shortt continues his education at Eastern Kentucky University, where he is pursuing a degree in Political Science with a minor in Paralegal Studies. He also holds the Certified Residential Specialist CRS® and Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager CRB® designations. His academic work and professional credentials reflect his longstanding commitment to real estate and his interest in law, government, public policy, housing, and community affairs.
Military Service
Shortt served 20 years in the United States Army and is a Vietnam veteran. His assignments included service with the 7th Squadron, 1st Air Cavalry Regiment in Vietnam, as well as service in Korea and Germany.
He later served as a senior U.S. Army drill instructor at Fort Knox. At the time of his retirement, he was Chief of Operations and Training at the U.S. Army NCO Academy and Drill Sergeant School at Fort Knox.
Community Leadership
His public and community service includes serving on the Radcliff City Council (2015–2016), as president of the Heart of Kentucky Association of REALTORS®, and in leadership roles within local business organizations. He has also served with the Salvation Army and Toastmasters and participated in regional economic and community development organizations.
